Every hospital has a staff and visitor café or restaurant, which varies in design, size and layout providing meals, snacks and beverages to CHG staff, and in some locations visitors.
Overview
Based on CHG sales data and analytics, each hospital has been aligned to a size profile providing a different core catering offer to match volume, capacity and overall usage.
Ranging from larger hospitals full of people enjoying our great menus throughout the day, through to some smaller locations where the low numbers onsite mean there are rarely many staff lingering in the dining room, and it is difficult to create vibrant counter displays without risking high levels of food waste and associated cost.

Small Hospitals
Staff & visitors can pre-order menu items from the patient menu, for breakfast and lunch or to collect for later in the day, some smaller hospitals with vending machines provide additional out of hours options.

Medium Hospitals
Staff & visitors can pre-order menu items from the patient menu, or if applicable via the main servery.
Food service is offered in one of two formats, depending on size and operational alignment.
1 - CHG Pre-order menu allowing staff to order from the patient a la carte menu, or a Bento Box with a choice from the daily dinner menu meals.
2 - Hot servery offer, allowing staff to choose at the hot counter from traditional cooked breakfast and at lunch one daily dish and one vegetarian / vegan special, alongside ordering from the main a la carte menu providing a range of lighter healthier choices.
Some medium hospitals may also wish to add a smart fridge or smart market to provide further out of hours options.
